Situations and emotions...

I have this friend who's been thinking about one of our friends and that friend is really depressed about it and my friends and I are trying to help her. We are trying to understand her. This one friend and I took to taking a dictionary, turning it spine-down, and relax and let our fingers and minds flow with the dictionary and we'll usually find words that are related to that situation. It's really cool. Like a ouija board, but not really occult, demonic, or satanic.

Academic Team..

Today after school at 3:30 was the second Academic team practice, first quick recall practice. The seniors from last year got to write questions and answers apparently, so we had some interesting questions:

-All mammals are this...
-Who is buried in Grant's tomb?
-Lots of questions about Brave New World and The Da Vinci Code.
-Lots of usual academic team quick recall questions.
-Blah, blah, blah.

Hehe. I answered at least 4 right. So I was okayish. It was just a really weird day. One of our captains wrote two pages of ferrets killing elves (which were her thoughts in 5th hour.) Our academic team is great.

Church and thoughts...

I was sitting in Sunday school think about Christmas. I had a song on my mind that was from It's A Charlie Brown Christmas. I am so excited about Christmas. I love Christmas. It is the most wonderful time of the year. My mom was right in saying that the best part about Christmas is the 24 days before just waiting for it. Decorations, lights, and Christmas trees. I love it.

I also love Halloween. The whole month of October, except for the 24th. That's when High School Musical 3: Senior Year comes out in theaters. If you ask me, it's not worthy of being in theaters, especially the same one that Twilight is showing at. Halloween is fun and creepy. I love the fact that it's all spooky. I love witches, vampires, and ghosts.

I hate how much publicity High School Musical, Hannah Montana, and the Jonas Brothers are getting. I have to endure the pain of seeing them EVERYWHERE! It's driving me insane. I hate it. There are better, underrated singers out there. I like the actors and actresses of HSM, just not the music.

I don't know what to do about church. I've been raised as a southern Baptist my whole life. I really need a change. I want to be a Methodist or a Quaker, or a Quaker-Methodist. At Silver Creek Baptist, I am the only 14-year-old freshman from Berea Community there. I'm lonely. I have none of my best friends there to hang out with. At Berea Methodist, I have Laura. Taylor and Lekey are Quakers. I don't know what to do. I want a change. I feel that my church is a little too conservative for me. The Methodist church, I feel, is more liberal. Plus, the music is a little bit nicer too. I even have my first-period teacher/academic team coach there. Plus, I just don't have Laura. There's a lot of my peers that go there and some of my brother's friends that he graduated with. I think that when I go to Berea College, I'll go to the Methodist church. It's walking/biking distance from the campus. I've planned this in my head for a while. That's probably what I'll do. It's legal. Everybody has the right to choose their own religion, unlike homosexuality.

Gay people rock! I don't know how they are "sinners". They're just living their lives with the people they love. It's the same as straight people. First attraction, kiss, date, etc. It's all about LOVE. I don't understand how love is as bad as murder. That is the abomination right there. Not homosexuality, but murder. I wish people would see that. They need to rethink a lot.

First blog!

Hey everybody. My name is Braden. My birthday is October 7th. My dad is Head coach of Berea College's men's basketball team, my mom is a part-time Health teacher at EKU, my brother is a 2008 graduate of Berea High School and is now officially a student at UK, and my cat Butter is the usual lazy, in-and-out, hungry, thirsty, precious kitty. I love him though.

I am a liberal democratic (I hate war when it's unnecessary such as the current one in Iraq) treehugging (Lekey!) bookwormy hippie vampire! *shows teeth* Grr. LOL!

I am a freshman in high school. High school is very different from middle school. I like high school. I feel more mature and grown-up. The classes are more fast-paced than the classes in middle school. In middle school, we learned one thing for a week. In high school, we learn lots of things in a week and take notes to record those things so that we don't forget them and use them to study for exams. Plus, there's a lot more homework, but it's been easy, but it'll get more challenging.

I'm on the High School Academic Team (which whenever someone wants to say something we have to introduce and re-introduce ourselves and then the others respond, "Hi [enter speaker's name]!" with an extended arm wave. When we're done, everyone else claps. LOL!) I also play clarinet for the high school band. It's fun.

Twilight is my current favorite thing ever right now. Books, upcoming movie (which was changed from December 12th to November 21st!!!). I was so happy when I found out. I told a million people. There was bad news too. Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince was changed from November 21st to July 17th due to box office reasons (*sob*), but I can wait. It adds the suspense. Now people are whining, crying, and are planning to boycott every other movie because this happened. Some people can be retarded and think it's the end of the world. Which it's not. Grr. I have school and Twilight to keep me busy.

I am in the process of writing a short story/novel. It's inspired from Twilight, but I am really trying hard to make it as different as possible. I have had two of my best friends Autumn and Laura reading it chapter by chapter and they both love it. It is possible I might publish it locally, or just publish one copy for moi'. ;D

So basically, I'm a nerd, dork, geek, whatever you want to call me. I also like some sports. Like gymnastics, tennis, and bowling. I have a muscular build though. I played basketball and baseball when I was growing up, but I've lost my interest for them. I've moved on. My whole family (including me) are all former basketball players (except Dad and Butter.)
