So life!

I am transitioning to my last year of high school. It's gonna be a great year!

I really hope there's a lot of opportunity that comes my way. I would love to get back into theatre....which is mainly why I'm not cheering again...ever.

Oh yeah, I'm a National Champion!!!!!
That was way back in March at Myrtle Beach. It was one of the best experiences ever!

Now it's about....senior pics tomorrow....and The Glee Project and just enjoying my summer.

Trips to West Virginia (family reunion) and to Michigan from there (family trip).

Happy PRIDE!...and GO NEW YORK for promoting marriage equality for all!
Next year, when I'm 18, I'm definitely gonna start go to Pridefests....since a lot of the fun seems to happen to those 18 and over. LOL!

I can't believe I'll be legal in about 4 months.
It's exciting.

Life is changing, but that's how it goes.

Things that I am excited for

I haven't been all that happy with how things have been going, so to be more optimistic, I'm making a list of all the things I am excited for.

1. District Governor's Cup meet - I am confident I will make it to Regional at least one event.
2. GLEE! I'm curious as to what happens between Kurt and Blaine the second half of Season 2.
3. Possibly getting to compete at Regional for the first time in 4 years.
4. Possible Nurturer's retreat the last weekend of February - I haven't been to one yet and the calendar is mostly blank for that weekend, so yeah.
5. Last weekend in March = Asheville SAYF retreat
6. April SAYF retreat in Knoxville - Berea is planning it.
7. Chicago trip for band
8. End of school
9. SAYMA - even though awesome seniors are graduated from SAYF, I'm excited!
10. Senior year
11. Turning 18.
12. Holidays like Halloween and Christmas and stuff that can wait! LOL!

First blog post of the year: 2011 edition!

It's 2011.

Hehe. 1/1/11

I haven't thought of a resolution as a lot of mine from last year seemed to happen.

I guess I'll start listing them off:
~ Finishing Junior Year with kick-ass grades
~ At least qualify to Regional (after 4 years)
~ SAYF it up!
~ Get into GSP (though it might not happen, and that's fine).
~ Retire from cheerleading (yes, retire)
~ Try out for All-Regional Band and hopefully make it

Oh yeah:
~ Win multiple gold medals at the Olympics! ;)

SAYF woes....

After one year and a half, I have only missed one retreat since I have been going to SAYF. I am going to have to go to half of the retreats this year. I'm NOT cool with that.
I'm not liking cheering because of it. I haven't been liking it as much as I thought because of how the sport is, anyway. I've decided if I were to get injured, I'd not compete. I don't want to get injured again, for one, and I want to go to SAYF.....and competition team gets in the way of that. Competition team is pretty much the reason why I'm slightly regretting joining back up with it.
I was so excited to be going to Chattanooga in November, and I'm not going to be able to go because it's the weekend before our first competition. Ugh.
I'm not going to see any of the other SAYFers until January....and then after that....April. What am I going to do?
I'm pretty okay with missing October for Homecoming. We only have four of those left, so yeah.
But it's sad that I'm going to have half of SAYF after a full year of it.
Worship sharing Saturday night was lovely. I shared all of this with everybody...and in my epistle.
The only thing that got me down this weekend was the fact I'm going to have to wait this long.
We'll just see what happens.

Junior year....

It's alright. A ton of work, but I'm still holding up. Not a 4.0 like the past couple of years, but still, I can get that up.
Cheering is slightly hurting my body. I've been injured twice. I don't like it. One more fall on my left shoulder and I'm not doing competition team, just varsity. I at least would like to finish the year if it does happen.
Running for class president. Hope I win. I'll get to be in charge of float building and prom. It'll be fun even if I don't. I'll still help.
Also, SAYF isn't gonna be as often this year, which makes me sad.
But a happy happening.....LEKEY'S HOME FROM INDIA!

That is all.

#40

I am really excited!
Proposition 8 has been overturned and ruled as a violation to the Constitution.
This is only one battle of the huge war, but it's one battle won.

I don't like how they have to ban gay marriage because it really is dictating how other people can live their lives. Plus, these were other US citizens who voted for this.
Why must there be a vote on peoples' marriages?
That's not really making me try to understand that it's not just intolerance, but it's also just peoples' beliefs and I do understand that, but the annoyance usually comes first.
I just don't like how they go about it. I wouldn't be as upset as if they just said that they believed being gay was wrong. I am sort of okay with that, but I would have a lot more respect and understanding if it was just that. But in saying that, there's no hatred, violence, judging, prejudice, or even intolerance. It's just the personal belief of a person.
But I still don't think that everybody who voted for Prop 8 just believed marriage was between a man and a woman. I'm sure there was intolerance.
